It’s Easter, and it’s Springtime in Texas! Hallelujah, Christ has risen from the grave! At this time of the year we celebrate our risen Savior and Lord. All of creation comes alive at this time of year in response to this glorious news.
God’s creation is at its best!
As I looked outside at those gray skies and longed for sunshine, I kept telling myself that April would come..And here it is, glory!
If you decide to visit Texas, be sure to come during the month of April. It’s hard to describe the majesty of God’s creation when April rolls around!
These are my prize irises, in full bloom in my garden. There’s a variety of colors ~ from pale lavender to magenta to dark velvety purple. They are truly food for the soul.
And this is my Vitex tree. It smells wonderful ~ even the leaves are fragrant!
You might consider driving toward Brenham from Houston. We happened to find a flea market in Chapel Hill, on the way, and took some great photos last year…And don’t forget Washington on the Brazos, the birthplace of Texas ~ right down the road…
Anyway, if you do get a chance to go that way, I hope you’ll take the time to see some of the sights on Highway 290. And before I go, I just want to say a great big “THANK YOU” to our former first lady, Lady Bird Johnson, who is largely responsible for the amazing displays of color along Texas highways. We will never forget her! And a great big “HOWDY” to all my fellow Texans who know how to have a good time and who share in the majesty of Texas with me!
Goodbye for now, and Happy Easter to everyone! Christ is risen! And all of creation shouts the news!
