“In the beginning, God created man, but seeing him so feeble, He gave him the cat.” Warren Eckstein
This week we find the Feline Dalai Lama relaxing at home with his family. The last six months have been spent traveling throughout Africa, assisting various dignitaries and organizations who requested his company. These are perilous times for the peoples of the world, and he has been constantly called upon for assistance.
So he’s happy to return, travel-weary, to the one haven on earth where he knows uninterrupted peace and contentment. He’s away from the phone and computer, restoring his soul through prayer and quiet communion with God. Time spent with his family is counted as very precious, because as a kitten he was alone. Therefore, he relishes the loving company and attention.
While at home, he will be writing in his journal, pondering the events of past days. He’ll be writing letters to various dignitaries. His most recent meeting, in which he assisted the charitable organization Samaritan’s Purse, http://www.samaritanspurse.org, was a great success.
His negotiating skills enabled this group to broaden their contacts in an impoverished nation, where children will be given educational opportunities never before available to them.
His letter to the friends at Samaritan’s Purse:
“I’m sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside you. How delightful that our time together proved fruitful on behalf of the children. It was a privilege to mediate between the tribes, whose dialects are challenging and often impossible to translate.
My knowledge of obscure dialects has been a helpful tool in bringing people – and nations- together. And i will always be available, as my schedule allows, to assist in your valuable ministry for the Lord. Please give me six months’ advance notice, if possible, whenever you have a need for my services, in order that I can make travel arrangements.
Your miraculous effectiveness in working with these nations is truly admirable. God is certainly still in the business of performing miracles, isn’t He?
I’ll continue to be in prayer with you as you broaden your horizons. May He Who never sleeps be your constant Companion and Protector.
In Christ’s service, and yours,
FDL”
And so we leave the Feline Dalai Lama to his well deserved restoration period. His next journey of compassion will be announced before Thanksgiving. He recommends that you follow this link for more information regarding Samaritan’s Purse.
