“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called FAITHFUL AND TRUE…” Revelation 19:11
It was still dark and I was lying in bed, listening to worship music and communing with the Lord. There’s something wonderful about a dark room, because it shuts everything else out except the two of us. I can focus on Him and Him alone.
“..oh soul, are you weary and troubled? no light in the darkness you see? there’s light for a look at the Savior, and life more abundant and free..turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace”
You know, life is shocking. Life is hard.
Just when you think it can’t get worse, you’re dealt a crushing blow. Just when you have a grasp on today’s challenges, new and greater problems arise and you don’t know whether you can face another day. It’s just more than anyone should have to bear….At least it seems that way…
So anyway, here I was in my room, and as I meditated and worshiped the Lord, I was reminded of a verse in Revelation, which describes Christ returning to earth on a white horse, to judge and to wage war…To assume His final historic role on earth as conqueror and king. But what stood out in my mind were these words, “..and He that sat upon (the horse) was called FAITHFUL AND TRUE…”
Somehow those words struck me. I mean, they literally struck me like a bolt of lightning! I simply repeated them to myself over and over as I focused on the mighty person of our Lord on that white horse.
Hasn’t God repeatedly told us that He is FAITHFUL and TRUE ? And that we can RELY on his faithfulness ~ more certain than any force, any person, anything or anyone we’ve ever known? Hasn’t He been faithful through every valley, every dark night, every loss, every heartbreak, every disappointment? As I thought of the Lord Jesus on His white horse (oh, what a glorious vision!), somehow those words “faithful and true” settled into my bones. It was such a peaceful moment, and at the same time I knew a lightness in my body, knowing His faithfulness sustains me in ALL circumstances because He lives in me. Oh glorious Lord Jesus! Thank you for being faithful and true! Christ in me, the hope of Glory! Christ the Faithful and True!
Every one of us faces troubled times. It seems the world is crumbling around us. There’s evil on every side. And yet, GOD IS FAITHFUL.
AND JESUS CHRIST IS FAITHFUL AND TRUE. In keeping with that quality, He will return to this earth one day to make it all right. Don’t ever doubt Him! In the meantime, when you’re faced with overwhelming obstacles in your life, hold on to His promises and savor the sweet aroma of His constant faithfulness in your life and the lives of others! Keep your eyes on Jesus and His unchanging nature. And hold on to the Word of God ~ memorize your favorite scriptures so they will be right at hand when you need them! Pray! Spend time with God! Seek His face as often as you are reminded to do so ~ you can never pray too much! This world needs your prayers.
Some verses to carry with you..tuck them away in your mind or write them down if you don’t have a quick reference…you NEED the power of the Word!
